Why do kids need Gym sessions? Given the stunning rates of childhood and adult obesity, and health risk factors such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis appearing at younger ages, Gym plays a vital role as physical education class is their only opportunity to learn about the relationships among exercise, nutrition, and health. It is their only opportunity to engage in moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity. For young children it can be their only occasion to acquire basic body management skills, like body-part identification and spatial awareness.
